Video of the Month

Joshua Bederson, Professor and System Chair in the Department of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, introduces an imaging system that overlays vital regions of the brain onto the microscope eyepiece during neurosurgery. The augmented reality technology adjusts in real-time as surgery is performed, to display the outline of major arteries and cerebral structures that are in the surgeon’s viewfinder, and help make neurosurgery more efficient.
